Carrington Goff was born in Houston, Texas in 1983. With the stakes against him, Carrington knew the only way to success was to leave his hometown of Houston. After completing high school, Carrington enlisted and served in the US Navy, where he worked as the Ship Barber, Warehouse Associate, and Storekeeper.

Although music was in his heart, Carrington was inspired by his mother to continue his academic education. Therefore, using his military benefits, Carrington enrolled as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing program.

Circumstances and "life" began to overwhelm and present obstacles and barriers that would challenge any non-traditional student with a family to support. Carrington was faced with these oppositions and due to family obligations, he was unable to complete the program and was forced to withdraw.

Once he was back on track, Carrington tried his hand at nursing school yet again, and re-enrolled, with a newly acquired support system.

Oakland, Calif.-based author, food-justice-activist and eco-chef Bryant Terry is not only the author of “Vegan Soul Kitchen: Fresh, Healthy, and Creative African-American Cuisine,” but he also motivates us to examine what we eat, as opposed to simply dieting and taste. Mr. Terry definitely supports that food should taste good, but he's also concerned with the foods we eat and its impact on our bodies, the planet, and the community. He's an unexpected eco-conscious dietetics specialist with above average taste.
